Where Scholastics Meet Wilderness Awareness

Homeschool Support

Our Homeschool Support for 1st - 6th grades (kids 7-12) are outdoor interdisciplinary programs.  The skillfully crafted curriculum ensures your child learns practical life skills combined with real academic knowledge, wilderness awareness, homesteading, and naturalist skills.  We incorporate real world experiential learning for holistic education that is rooted firmly in nature connection and community.

Nature-based Education

We honor nature as the greatest teacher and immerse in the gifts of every season; building courage, confidence, lasting friendships, and social-emotional resilience. Our outdoor classrooms make learning an adventure, while we also enjoy our covered areas and facilities for certain activities, such as wildcrafting medicines, prepping food and eating together, as well as a space to integrate academics into our nature-based curriculum.

How We Teach

We help your child trust and know their own intelligence and capabilities, so that they may become incredible members of their community. We help them to push their personal edges and take appropriate risks in a safe and caring environment, building confidence and awareness.

Our experienced teachers meet your child at their individual physical, emotional, and academic development, guiding them to forge a path forward to succeed not just in their academic journey, but in their lives now and into the future!

Social-Emotional Skills

We focus on social-emotional awareness with mindfulness practices and team-building exercises while learning important life and survival skills.

We provide unique experiential learning in nature with hands-on science, ethnobotany, ecology and an inquiry-based approach that cultivates curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity.

We envision a better world through cultivating a community that respects one another and nature, building kindness and emotional resilience!

What to Expect

Small groups with experienced and compassionate teachers. Our mixed-age classes build awareness of our emotions and inner worlds, how we effect others and our environment, and connection to the cycles and rhythms of nature.

We emphasize compassionate communication, collaboration and consent, gratitude and respect for others and the Earth. Children grow long-lasting friendships and a love for learning, while gathering the wisdom and medicine in nature.

Nature Immersion

Kids embark on exciting adventures led by our experienced teachers and discover the medicine and wonders of nature playing in the magic of Fern Gully Forest. Old growth trees surround a creek with hidden waterfalls running through a beautiful woodland playground. This is the most interesting outdoor classroom around. Truly a gem of nature in the middle of Olympia! Learn about the wild edible plants and ecology of the PNW and connect with wildlife in their natural habitats.

Making a Difference

We encourage kids to follow their passions, develop collaborative innovation, critical thinking and problem-solving through inquiry-based learning on a fantastic team. We explore the forest, gather plants for wildcrafting, learn about sustainability practices through permaculture gardening, homesteading and survival skills.

Families develop a sense of belonging and pride to be a part of our conservation and restoration efforts that contribute to the well-being of wildlife and local ecosystems. Together, we are making a difference for our planet and our children's future!
